This workshop is tailored for high school educators, aimed at unraveling the unique challenges and strengths of students who completed some or all of their middle & high school education during the global pandemic and ensuing COVID-19 lockdowns. This workshop will include observations of college professors to glean valuable insights into the distinct characteristics of post-pandemic freshmen. What is different about Freshman in 2024 compared to Freshman in 2019? Learn how to empower your current high school students with the skills they need for success in higher education and beyond. From time management to addressing the gaps in social skills, discover practical strategies to enhance college preparedness. Facilitator:

Sherryse Corrow, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology and neuroscience at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota in Child Psychology (2013) with an emphasis in cognitive neuroscience. After the completion of her Ph.D., she completed an NIH postdoctoral fellowship in neuroscience (2017) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. In addition to her research in neuro-cognition, Dr. Corrow is passionate about the science of learning and pedagogy and serves on the faculty development team at Bethel University.
